Why Choose Scholars Maths?

At Scholars Maths, our lessons follow the White Rose curriculum, which closely aligns with the National Curriculum and is used by most schools across England. This means children receive support that directly complements what they are learning in school, helping them build confidence and make consistent progress.

Experienced Teaching

With over a decade of experience teaching maths in schools, I understand how to support children of all abilities. Whether a child needs help building confidence, preparing for secondary school, strengthening core skills, or being challenged to reach a higher level, lessons are tailored to help every student succeed.

Small Group Learning

What makes Scholars Maths different is our focus on high-quality teaching in small, supportive groups where every child feels comfortable, encouraged, and valued. We believe children learn best when they feel confident to ask questions and enjoy the learning process.

Affordable Excellence

We are proud to provide premium maths teaching at affordable prices, making excellent maths support accessible to more families. Additionally, if your child receives pupil premium, ask your child's school if they could fund all or part of your child's online tuition.

Years 6-9 & GCSE Support

Scholars Maths primarily supports students from Years 6–9, helping them build strong mathematical foundations and confidence during the important transition from primary to secondary school. At certain times of the year, I also provide targeted support for Year 11 students who are working towards achieving a Grade 4 or above in their GCSE Maths exams.

Adult Learners & Common Challenges

In addition, adult tuition is available for learners who want to improve their maths skills, whether to better support their children’s learning or to prepare for maths equivalency tests. The main challenges I help students overcome are lack of confidence, difficulty understanding key concepts, and feeling overwhelmed by maths in school. My aim is to simplify maths in a clear and supportive way while reinforcing what students are currently learning in class. By breaking topics down into manageable steps and creating a positive learning environment, students are able to improve their understanding, confidence, and overall performance in maths.

Expected Outcomes

After attending Scholars Maths lessons, students and parents can expect to see noticeable improvements in understanding, confidence, and overall progress in maths. Students will begin to recognise how different areas of maths connect together, helping them develop a deeper understanding rather than simply memorising methods. As confidence grows, students become more willing to attempt challenging questions, participate in lessons, and work independently. Parents can also expect their children to feel more prepared and less anxious when approaching school assessments, SATs, or GCSE exams. Most importantly, students will develop a more positive attitude towards maths and gain the skills and confidence needed to continue improving both in school and beyond.
